Great Montreal Bike Adventure

I went to Montreal Canada with my mom to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins. Unfortunately for our 3 weeks in Montreal there were pretty much no plans made to do anything so I took the advice of one of my co-workers and rode a bike around. Now to be honest I didn’t ride to any famous places or landmarks cause well they were just too far away and I could only ride so much in one day. Most of the places I went were just around the city. So enjoy the pictures and little stories :)

this is my map, I marked everywhere I went (look at it closely some of the lines are a bit hard to see). I didn’t like that where we lived was pretty much on the edge of the map (bottom right area of the first picture) and it may not look like I went that far but trust me Montreal is a BIG island.

this was my ride and how I found it under my uncle’s porch. It’s a 1986 Supercycle (made in Canada).

couple hours later its nice and clean

first stop on my first ride, I was at the park of millionaires (spelled like millionaires (as in rich people) but in French it means millennium)

Photobucket
Photobucket
this is a scary sign, I was really scared to be in this area just cause of this sign, I mean if I knew what it said while I was there it might have helped. What it says is something like “drive slow, it could be your kids”. That picture doesn’t look like a kid that just got run over, it looks like a kid that just got beat up, so you can understand why I was scared

abandoned? Not sure but it’s all gratified so…

And that’s about it for what I liked to call the “Great Montreal Bike Adventure” I rode about 18 days, most of the rides took anywhere from 1-4 hours. The seat on the bike was terrible so I had to use a bike seat cover and I put a pair of pj pants between it and the seat. It was a terrible bike to use for something like this, I would recommend more of a mountain bike, something with thicker tires and some sort of suspension. On a few days I actually got rained on, and one day the chain fell off. Other than those small nuisances it was really fun being out and about just riding around town. 2 times I got yelled at, but they yelled at me in French so I have no idea what they were saying. Hope you enjoyed the pictures and little comments.
